I really enjoy joking, kidding with them. Amiee is wonderful. She’s always been very wanting you to know everything and educational. And Raquel is something else. She and I have a relationship where we really relate to each other well. There’s always humor in the background. That’s really what I enjoy is just coming to be with them. They’re friends, in addition to just being very good dental people. Dr. Amiee is a great dental technician and a dentist. Dr. Amiee is also very personable, friendly. A-plus, as far as I’m concerned, they are the best, which I am retired. I’m on a limited income. When I started my work here, she had a whole plan lined out, very organized, had the whole plan lined out about what she was going to do each visit, and how much it was going to cost estimated, of course. I’m an engineer. And so I enjoy someone who is organized and has things all kind of planned out. I was reluctant at first because I knew the best usually costs some money. Provided me with a special program that I could afford. That’s another reason that I know my dental care is the best in her hands.

I’ve been going to the dentist for years. The dentist that I first started going to kind of reminded me, like, of Dr. Jekyll. I didn’t really get a lot of injections when I’d have fillings done. They just do them and tell me to hold on tight. So now the treatment that I get very easy and very simple. And so I don’t really have any reluctance to come to the dentist. I actually neglected my dental care before I came here. I’m, like I said, on a fixed income. And so the dental thing was one thing and I don’t have insurance. I didn’t have any kind of dental insurance and I still don’t. So I neglected my dental care and over maybe two years, it really got bad. So when I came here, I wanted it done by a professional and someone as good as Dr. Amiee because I’d experienced her work at a previous dental location. So when I came here, I expected to have first-class service, which I did. She’s done a whole lot of work on my mouth because it was in such terrible shape. Even diet, we’ve worked on diet, in addition, to just the work that she’s done here in the office. She’s done a real good job with me. Well, being all of those things, efficient, accurate, and then the gentleness, it’s just the whole package. The technical ability is something I really appreciate. Raquel is always asking me while I’m being treated if I’m okay, if everything is okay. She’s checking in periodically to find out if I’m okay and everything is fine. It’s great to have that kind of treatment.

When I first arrived to Dr. Amiee, I had a mouthful of bad teeth. I had missing teeth and I had some infections. I was what you call a white knuckler. And, you know, they laid me down in the chair and I thought, I can’t do this. I’m going to just have a heart attack. And it was very calming. I had blankets. I got to hold hands, you know, and my husband got to be in the room with me the first time. It worked out well to where she could just get in there, and get some pictures, and just poke around a little, and just get me comfortable with Dr. Amiee. And that was nice. Dental care to me now is not, like, heart-stopping. It doesn’t fill you with anxiety, and dread, and tears. You know, the needles, the grinding is very frightening. However, if you go to the right dentist like Dr. Amiee, they get you really nice, and calm, and normed out. Every visit becomes easier and easier. Even if there’s more work to be done, the visit became easier. I would say if you’ve been, like, traumatized by a dental or if you’ve had, like, a lot of trauma in your mouth, Dr. Amiee be the one to try because I’ve been there. I’ve done that. You’re still letting the last dentist have control. Come see Dr. Amiee and you get control back over your anxieties. You get control back over your health. You get control back because she helps you with that.

Basically, all my teeth are rotting away and breaking. There is a lot of pain and the infection. The infection’s awful. As anybody with a bad mouth infection knows, it goes throughout your whole body. It makes you lethargic, you don’t have much energy. So when I approached the implants and they started coming out, the bad teeth were coming out, the infection was coming out. All of a sudden I could chew better food. I could chew a nice piece of meat, you know, break off something crunchy. And then I could start chewing on both sides of my mouth. And that’s a new feeling. And it was a wonderful feeling seeing it was new. And it made you smile. I was saying you got a prettier smile because you got teeth. And that’s just even the best bonus of all. When I first came in, I needed a lot of care. I needed blankets, I needed hand-holding. I needed, you know, touching on the shoulder, “It’s okay.” And by the time the implants were done, I came in like a pro, like, “Let’s get it done.” I knew what we were doing. And there was hardly any pain involved. It’s so wonderful. People smile back at me, and I don’t hunch over as much anymore because I sit up and I’m, like, looking at you, I’m not trying to cover up my smile. And I do enjoy eating more. I still eat different things on the menu. So you go to different places and you do have more of a bounce in your stuff. Just getting the infection gone too makes you much happier. Dr. Amiee is the one to start with. Like I said, you can walk in the door and she’ll give you everything you need. You can have the blankets, the headphones, whatever you need. You get all the love and support you need. And then by the time you’re ready to be done with the process, you’re gonna come in and you’re gonna be like, “I don’t need none of that. I’m good to go. This is wonderful. Thank you for my smile.”

I actually had the root canal when I was in sixth grade and I got hit in the face with a bat, and it killed my tooth, and so they had to do a root canal. And for years it was fine but as I got older the tooth just started to discolor and it got very yellowy. I had for years wanted to fix it. She said, “I think I can fix this for you.” I said, “Let’s do it because it’s driving me nuts.” The bleaching was a series of appointments that we had to come in, and she had to take out my old filling and put some bleach in there and put a temporary filling in, and we did it over the course of several weeks. I was never uncomfortable. I was always at ease. I came in and they took care of it and it was actually fairly quick for what all they needed to do, and it went very smoothly, and we started seeing results pretty quick actually. It means that I don’t worry about smiling anymore. I used to always, every time, I would think about my tooth when I smiled and I don’t anymore. I told my husband the other day actually, I said, “I just love it that I smile now and sometimes I think about the fact that I’m not thinking about my tooth, but it always makes me just happy that I’m not.” I used to always be very self-conscious about it and especially pictures. When I have pictures taken now it always makes me happy because I don’t look at them and go, “Ugh, I hate that.” I look at it and go, “Oh look, I love my smile again.” I would absolutely just recommend them come and talk to Dr. Rawlings about it and it’s changed everything. Like, I feel so much better about it myself and I would absolutely recommend everything about how they handled it for me.

All my kids are very comfortable here. They’re very… They’re just happy. They come in, they know the routine, they know what’s gonna happen. They’re never worried about going to the dentist. You know, some people are really afraid of going to the dentist, and my kids don’t ever, have never had to deal with that, really. They’re just happy to be here, and they come. It’s a good situation, especially for my kids. It was a great place for them to get acquainted with having your regular dental checkups, because there’s nothing there to be concerned about. You know, I tell my kids all the time that our goal is to get it to where, between our orthodontist and our dentist, to have it to where their teeth are healthy for their whole lives, and they never have to deal with the things that my grandparents and great-grandparents had to deal with. They don’t have to worry about any of the things they did, because we’re setting them up from a very young age to have healthy teeth and mouth and oral care and all of that from day one. Like, we’re setting them up just to be taking good care of it, so that way, when they’re 90 years old, they still have great teeth. This is where my kids have grown up going to the dentist, and it’s a great environment, and that it’s a great place to bring your kids, and that’s hands down where I would recommend.

We pay monthly actually, we just pay a monthly fee that covers everyone in our family. We get two hygiene appointments covered every year. I think we also have an emergency appointment covered too if something crazy happened. And then we also get a discount on any extra work that needs to be done, so any fillings, although we haven’t had any of those in a long time, so yay! Fillings, you know, we get a discount off of that. And one of my kids had to come in and have something fixed the other day. We got a discount off of that. And so it just helps us to kind of, just budget it. Like, I never, you know, sometimes you stress about making appointments. Can we afford it? To me, it’s already part of the thing. We make our appointments, we go, it’s just taken care of. If we didn’t do the program, it would be very difficult for me to figure out. how we were going to pay. I would just think, I can’t, I don’t know. And so for me, just the peace of mind of knowing that it’s taken care of and I just have it, you know, I see it come out of the account every month and I know we’re good. I never worry about calling and making an appointment. It’s just, there’s a huge peace of mind in knowing that we just have it taken care of and everything’s going to be great and they’re going to take care of us. You know, especially dental insurance is really weird and you don’t, it’s hard to get dental insurance. So for me, I feel like this is the next best thing. It’s dental insurance, but you know that all of it’s going to the people who are taking care of you. And so that’s the best. I mean, that’s the best for everybody.

I love the practice because of the professionalism combined with the friendliness and that always helps me to be more comfortable. I like the new space. It’s very comfortable. And the staff is wonderful. They are always friendly and checking on you just to make sure you’re okay. It really makes me more comfortable. And I think I actually open my mouth wider to get work done when you know, you’re just more relaxed.

I like the way that she’s just kind of laid back and yet professional at the same time. The care, I would say, is excellent. She’s just always taken the professional, again, professional techniques and I think she has the latest techniques too. One of the things that I like is the country music that’s on. And every once in a while she’ll hum a tune and it just really puts you at ease. Anything that you have done here is pretty much painless that I’ve had done. And I just really appreciate the fact that, you know, she will stop and say, you know, “Let me know if something is painful.” Or if something’s going to be a little bit of a pinch, she’ll let you know.

I had a tooth that I was not aware of that was basically rotting from the inside. She just took great care of me. Now you wouldn’t know what happened. I mean the tooth looks just like my natural teeth. Dr. Amiee was very concerned about dry socket and she took some extra measures to help prevent that from happening. So it probably took, you know, maybe a little bit longer to see the results from the beginning to the end. But I appreciate her patience in taking care to make sure that it was a successful outcome. One of my implants I just recently had done in the past month and there’s been no pain after it was done. I was expecting, you know, to go through some, you know, painkillers or whatever, but I just didn’t have to. It’s just been a great experience. Dr. Amiee, her knowledge in taking care of me is the biggest reason for coming here. She knows what to do and I’ve just had a great experience.

We have been going to Colorado Smiles for several years, initially with Dr. Clader and more recently with Dr. Rawlings. The treatment has always been excellent. Most recently I have had the first extraction of my (relatively long) life. It was a large molar that had had a root canal over 40 years ago and now had a broken root, so I was concerned about the procedure. Dr. Rawlings prescribed an extra anesthetic to reduce my level of consciousness and ease my nerves during the procedure. All went well, and one day later I have a tiny bet of pain that an occasional Tylenol takes care of. We proceeded with an implant and I now have fully functional teeth again.
